Waitrose Ely green tokens 17 January 2015

A month long green token event at Waitrose Ely has proven very successful for Lisa’s Fund with a cheque presentation for £458.00 recently. Sue Peploe Community Matters Champion handed over a cheque to Robert Barnes in the supermarket.

Robert who launched Lisa’s Fund more than four years ago after loosing his wife Lisa said he was delighted with the huge amount raised. “The people of Ely and the surrounding area have supported Lisa’s Fund from the outset and have never stopped supporting us and I would like to say a big thank you to each and every one of them.”

All the money goes to The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity where Lisa passed away almost four and a half years ago. Leading up to Christmas we managed to raise more than £2,700 at various events throughout the County, the total raised has now reached a staggering £113,500 said Robert.

Going forward the new CD (Wish You Where Here) produced by two local singer song writers Charlie O’Connor 17 and Molly Armstrong 16 is widely available in Ely, Soham and Cambridge priced at £8 some tracks can be heard on Facebook by going to Charlie and Molly’s Facebook page. All the money raised from the sale of the CDs will be going to the building of the new hospice which starts very soon said Robert.
